Extra Special: Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty

Okay... finally I've had time to process the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition....I know that sounds a tad dramatic but it was truly one of the most beautifully presented museum shows I have ever seen....and I've seen my share of shows.  The Costume Institute at the MET definitely raised the bar on exhibition design by creating oversized vitrines, a hall of gilded mirrors and a room size cabinet of curiosities to present an exhaustive collection of McQueen's amazing body of work.  My favorite part of the exhibition was watching the hologram of Kate Moss floating and twirling like some sort of ethereal creature swathed in yards of billowing fabric....I have to admit this wandering eye got a bit misty at the sheer beauty of the moment.
