Here is a sampling of timeless interiors from my treasured reference source for all things tasteful: Better Homes and Gardens Decorating Book circa 1975.
I love the dining room. I have an old BH & G Gardening Book and also the Handyman Book, both of which are still pretty relevant. It would be fun to see the one you have! It's a lot easier to pin a decade on interiors than on gardens.
Dear Jen of Country Weekend, I see you share my admiration of classic BH & G. The vintage Gardening Book is a keeper as is the Handyman Book with fantastic illustrations (yes, I have both)
And Belle de Ville I find that most either appreciate or greatly dislike mid-70's decor. There is no neutrality with that style!
In my thrillingly delusional existence as a world renowned designer, stylist, photographer, writer, flea-market scavenger and tap dancer my wandering eyes chance upon many items of wonder and beauty. This blog is where I share my visual discoveries. Thanks for wandering over and taking a look.

Isn't it funny how everything old is new again.
In a post last week, I quoted James Lileks who totally mocked this very same decor from 1975.
